Devil's Creek Trail Base is thin. The warm weather of Thursday and Friday are taking a toll. Icy areas and some bare spots are likely. Use caution.
Lincoln County’s funded snowmobile trails (County Administrated Trails) in Zone 2, Zone 3, and Zone4 will
OPEN at 4:00PM Friday, February 27, 2026.
Trails in Zone 1 and the Hiawatha Trail remain
open.
2/16/26:
Lincoln County’s funded snowmobile trails (County Administrated Trails) in Zone 2, Zone 3, and Zone 4 will CLOSE effective immediately Monday, February 16, 2026. Trails in Zone 1 and the Hiawatha Trail remain open
Please be aware that trails in Zone 1 are still in good condition; although, expect rough stretches, icy stretches with minimal snow cover and, due to the warm weather, potential bare spots.
1/19/26:
Lincoln County’s funded snowmobile trails (County Administrated Trails) in Zone 2, Zone 3, and Zone
4 will OPEN effective immediately Monday, January 19, 2026. Trails in Zone 1 and the Hiawatha Trail
remain open.
Zone 2: F Trail between intersections 56 & 57 is closed for the season.
Please be aware that trails are still in early-season condition. Expect rough stretches, icy stretches with
minimal snow cover and potential debris including branches or leaning trees.
1/16/26
Trails remain closed--only a few inches of snow have fallen during the past week.
1/7/26 Devil's Creek Trails (we are zone 2) are CLOSED!
Due to rapidly deteriorating trail conditions, Lincoln County’s funded snowmobile trails (County Administrated Trails) in Zone 2, Zone 3, and Zone 4 will close effective immediately Wednesday, January 7, 2026. Lincoln County’s funded snowmobile trails (County Administrated Trails) in Zone 1 will remain open.
01/02/26 LIMITED OPENING:
Use caution when riding and as always, please stay on the marked trails!
Stay off lakes and rivers unless an officially open trail has been clearly marked by a club. If a water body is not marked, it is considered unsafe.

- Trails in Zone 1: are good condition overall, potential scattered bare spots especially along roadsides. Better trail conditions exist in forested areas.
- Trails in Zones 2, 3 & 4: are in Fair to Good condition. Expect better riding conditions in forested areas and rough stretches, icy stretches with minimal snow cover and, potential scattered bare spots in open farm fields and roadsides. Trails are be described as “early season.” Use caution.
- Zone 2: F Trail between intersections 56 & 57 is closed for the season.

Lincoln County’s funded snowmobile trails (County Administrated Trails) in Zone 1, Zone 2, and Zone 3 will open
at 5:00 pm on Friday, January 2 with the following exceptions:
- Corridor 19 from County Hwy E north to State Hwy 86 will remain closed.
- Trail F between intersections #56 and #57 will be closed for the season.
Trails are in early season condition and may be rough and icy in some areas. Use Caution.
- On trails where winter ATV use is permitted, trails must be open to snowmobile use for 7 days before ATV use is allowed.
- All trails are closed to winter ATV use when the temperature is above 28 degrees F.
- Be aware of Trail Closed signs, stay on marked trails only and respect private land.
- Local snowmobile clubs remind riders to stay off lakes and rivers unless a trail has been clearly marked by a club.
- If a water body is not marked, it is considered unsafe.

NOTE: WINTER ATV trails are closed to winter ATV use when the temperature is above 28 degrees F. On trails where ATV use is permitted, trails must be open to snowmobile use for 7 days before ATV use is allowed.
